Workout

Work-Out is a lightweight tool that helps you, well, workout.

Work-Out has been specifically designed to be unobtrusive, meaning you don’t have to change the way you workout in order to use it.

Work-Out comes with pre-packed exercises that can help you get started right away, or you can create your own. Add exercises to your favorites to help you go through common workout routines.

Ever workout with a friend? Work-Out provides the ability to keep track of different users on the same device, so no need for workout buddies to both buy the app!

Work-Out also provides a 30-Day chart so you can see your short term progress at a glance. Find it in the App Store.

  1. What is a Fitness Score?
A fitness score is an arbitrary number calculated using the number of repetitions and the amount of weight lifted in a particular exercise. Fitness scores are not absolute numbers, and cannot be compared to someone else’s fitness score. It is merely a measure to provide the user feedback as to how intense their workouts have been, and to gauge what type of progress they are making in their fitness training.

  2. What is the “User” button on the Home screen?
The button at the top right of the Home screen is where you can manage user accounts in Work-Out. The name on the button shows the user who all visible data is currently tied to. The system starts out with a default user named “User”, which should be deleted after you add your own name.

  3. How do I switch user accounts?
User accounts can be switched easily at any time while using the app. Simply go to the Home screen, tap the button at the top right of the screen, and choose which user you would like to use. If you don’t see the user you want, just tap “Add a User” to add the desired user.

  4. How do I flip the body image thingy?
To select muscle groups like the back and hamstrings, just swipe across the body image to flip it.

  5. I don’t like any of the default exercises. Can I change them?
After an exercise is created there is currently no way to edit them, but you may delete any of the default exercises. You can also create exercises of your own by scrolling to the bottom of an exercise list and tapping “Add an exercise”.

  6. What are the lines on the 30 Day Fitness Chart?
The solid red line is your raw fitness scores for each day. The line will look very jagged as you might workout one day, rest the next, and workout again. The green dotted line is the 7-day moving average of your daily fitness scores. What it boils down to is a smoother line that shows your overall progress more evenly without all the hills and valleys of the raw data.
